CITIZENS GROUPS TO MEET ON CAPITOL STEPS TO OPPOSE TORT REFORM

A diverse group of citizens' advocates will gather on the South Steps of the Mississippi Capitol at 9:30 a.m. today to voice their concerns over proposed Legislative action in the so-called "tort reform" crisis.

Advocates believe restricting jury decisions in cases involving nursing home abuse, environmental pollution, corporate thievery and other wrongs will hurt the most vulnerable of our citizens.

Among those expected to attend are representatives from AARP, SNAP, National Citizens Coalition for Nursing Home Reform, MADD, AFL-CIO, and Sierra Club, as well as individuals with stories to tell.

The public is invited to attend.
